Save the Poitou Donkey
 
The Poitou donkey is the greatest donkey in the world. Only 300 pure bred Poitou donkeys are still alive, 200 located in the area of Poitou-Charente, France, especially within the Natural Park. 

AP6 commitment to animal welfare consists of a dedicated support to the non profit organization.

Genetic Depository
 
As all sires and pure-bred females are listed in the Poitou Donkey Stud Book, the non profit Organization has funded research programs to allow freeze - thawing of semen, embryo transfer, cloning. 
  
Artificial insemination / embryo transfer
 
The first success of embryo transfer and of the preservation of semen quality suggest that females around the world could benefit from the research on sires genetics and thus contribute to save the Poitou donkey.
